THOUGHT YOU KNEW NIVEA? THINK AGAIN….

NiveaI’m sure almost everyone has used a Nivea product at some point in their lives; the trusty, reliable and accessible brand with the soft signature scent we all love, but do we think of Nivea when it comes to anti-ageing?

The complaint I hear most from women when it comes to skincare is they often feel like they need to make a choice between treating their ‘skin type’ (oily/dry/dull etc.) or tackling skin ageing. At 25 someone could show the first signs of ageing but they could also be suffering from oily breakouts too. At 45 someone may show further signs of ageing but also have areas of pigmentation that bother them. So do we need to choose? Nivea says not.

The Nivea Q10 plus range now has 8 products designed to address the most common skin concerns alongside fighting the signs of ageing. Including a serum, an eye cream, a choice of day cream, a night cream and a cc cream all containing the all-important Q10.

Coenzyme Q10 is naturally present in all cells in the body, and the skin in particular has a constant need for it for 2 main reasons: it acts as an antioxidant, fighting off free radicals (environmental aggressors that attack and damage our skin cells) and it provides our cells with energy to perform their vital functions. As we age the level of Q10 decreases so our skin becomes more vulnerable and our cells don’t function as well as they should, resulting in visible skin ageing. The Q10 in Nivea mimics our own biology so that our skin recognises it and uses it to reenergise the cells and protect against free radicals! Genius!

Obviously you can never fully prevent the signs of ageing (and I’d like to think that we are becoming more accepting of ourselves to embrace it somewhat) but we can certainly delay the process and make the best of what we have, and what better way to start than with our trusty old friend Nivea?!
