Paris Fashion Week has drawn to a close , so we take a look back at the a makeup hits and spot the trends for AW14.

Teaming up for the fifth consecutive season, Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director, Tom Pecheux created a bold and contemporary look for Anthony Vacarello.

“Anthony’s collection is graphic and modern, edged with accents of color. I created a makeup look in the style of graphic fashion illustrations with ultrafine lines of black and red to accent the eye. The look is sophisticated and arty cool.” – Tom Pecheux, Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director. With a clean complexion and soft pink lips, all attention was diverted to the eyes with tribaleseque lines in black and red stretching from the edge of the corner of the eye outwards.

At the Chanel supermarket, the focus was on the eye once more where flat tints of pink, green, orange and dark red were applied over a base of shimmering duck egg blue. Illusion D’Ombre Epatant and Fantasame were used to help create this look, whilst a luminous velvet complexion was created using Perfection Lumiere Velvet. The lips were given a just bitten flushed pink effect for an overall girlish futuristic look. And the urban girl didn’t stop there, for the hair Sam McKnight sculpted the hair back into a centre parting pony whilst weaving tweet dreads through the hair “I exaggerated a simple pony and blew it up in proportion and detail, incorporating crimped extensions, braided hair in multicoloured Chanel tweed rags, lace and pearls” – Sam McKnight.

At Kenzo, the show took on a more grown-up tone from what we have been used to the past few seasons. Pairing prints seamlessly, the collection was burning with molten gold metallic and deep burnt orange and reds. To cool the collection, MAC Cosmetics opted for a fresh cobalt blue liner, slicked on thick and blunt, winged with prominent definition whilst the rest of the look was kept dewy fresh and completely clean, with only a blast of blue at the fingertips with a textured velvet manicure.

But if crazy eyeliner is a trend all too much for you, then fear not as at Stella McCartney, the beautiful fresh face look appeared once again which we spotted on the catwalks of Balmain and Marni. Pat McGrath created a luminous complexion with a slight dusting definition to the eyes and wash of brown mascara to finish. And for the nails, Sally Hansen were the exclusive nail sponsor, creating a clean and contemporary nail look to match the model’s skin tones.

Sally Hansen Global Color Ambassador, Madeline Poole made a bespoke blend of shades including blush, nudes and sheers from the Complete Salon Manicure palette. “We did a natural slightly sheer nail using various combinations of four shades. Colors were layered differently for each model to best complement their skin tone. As different nudes look better on different hands, we wanted to customize each girl’s look rather than using the same nude on everyone and bring emphasis to conditioning and nourishing the cuticles with Sally Hansen’s Cuticle Rehab” said Madeline Poole.

With minimal attention on the lips this season, Paris has determined AW14 will be a season for clean, fresh, luminous skin paired with a modern eye and a hint of colour and shimmer.
