Giorgio Armani AW14 Milan Fashion Week

StyleNest take a look at the latest beauty trends emerging from MFW. From Giorgio Armani to Emilio Pucci, we’ve selected a few of the latest hair and beauty trends filtering through from Milan this AW14.

Fifty shades of grey fuelled the Giorgio Armani show in flannel, silk and waffle galore. International makeup artist, Linda Cantello interprets the AW14 look as, “Fade to grey. Eyes with a wash of color. Imagine a strong Armani look with straight graphic eyebrows, grey eyes, berry mouth, and all a little bit delavé”. The skin was dewy and fresh, with a soft velvety matte finish. Prepped using Crema Nera Extrema Supreme Reviving Serum, Cream and Eye Compact, the skin was then made effortlessly flawless with Luminessence BB or CC cream depending on the skintone. The eyes were given a subtle grey wash of colour for a barely there ethereal look.

Amongst the multicolour of furs at Marni, Tom Pecheux created a waxy skin texture, complimenting hair stylist’s Paul Hanlon’s windswept waves. Outdoorsy and naturally polished, this enchanted look came together with both hair and makeup. Pecheux used MAC Cream Colour Base in Breaking Ground on the lips, lids and brows for a tonal effect. A textured unfinished but yet finished look, the skin was natural and flawlessly polished whilst the hair was swept across the face, reminiscent of a true winter’s day.

The heat was high at Emilio Pucci with a collection bursting with burnt orange and burgundy accents. The look was subtly decadent, with glowing iridescent skin. Makeup artist Yadim used MAC Cream Colour Base in pearl whilst a taupe shadow was washed across the lids for a soft halo effect. Black eyeliner was drawn into the waterline for a defined touch, whilst the lashes were left gentle and bare and the cheeks were lightly washed with a flash of Ladyblush. A few handful of models were given the Midas touch with a flush to the forehead, complimenting the tribal brocades in the collection.

For the Alberta Ferretti girl, the look was inspired by “Elves in the forest or little birds, illuminated manuscripts; gilding the eye to emphasise the shape…clean and pure.” – Lloyd Simmonds. A Narnia-esque collection, folksy fuelled with enchanted forest cues and feather accents offered a truly romantic look whilst the makeup was dewy, fresh with touches of shimmer. The eyes were washed with a sheer gold and kept lucid and shimmering, offering a slightly wet  look. The lips were matte, nude and looked almost dehydrated for a completely natural lustreless look. Using Fresh Brew Lipstick and MAC Pro Dim Lip Erase blended together and pressed, colour 316 Lip Brush then covered for a natural finish.
