Melvita The Bee Cause

MelvitaMelvita join forces with Friends of the Earth to help raise awareness for the Bee Cause campaign.

With pesticides and disease increasing as well as disappearing green spaces, Friends of the Earth have teamed up with Melvita in hope to save Britain’s 267 species of bees.

In recent years, the bee population has been declining which is a cause of great alarm. A study by University of Reading for Friends of the Earth showed that bees are essential to our ecosystem as they assist in pollinating crops, saving thousands of hours of man labour which in other ways would cost UK farmers over 1.8 billion a year.

To help raise awareness, beauty brand Melvita have donated funds to help develop 20 Melvita Foundation Bee Worlds throughout the country, which will offer forage for bees. The Bee Worlds will offer a site for bees with dedicate specific wildflowers where bees can find shelter and forage throughout the year, especially in more developed areas.

Readers who want to help make a difference and fancy getting their hands dirty will get the chance to volunteer at the Melvita Bee Dig in London.

For each, The Wild Flower Beautiful Bees Totes a 10% profit will be donated to the Friends of the Earth’s Bee Cause. Including a range of bee themed delights, the tote features Melvita’s 3-honey-complex Apicosma Skin Softening Body Milk, Hexagonal Mini Soap, Bee Cause Tea Towel and Bee Cause Notepad all presented in a fun and colourful Tote Bag.

Founded in 1983 on a bee farm, Melvita was pioneered by biologist Bernard Chevilliat. Innovative in organic beauty, Mevita is enthusiastic in sponsoring ecological issues.
