This summer we’re using the new Braun Silk-expert IPL, the fastest of its kind in hair removal, with flashes every 0.0-1.9 seconds.
Trialling the Special Edition version, complete with Sonic Body Exfoliator, the device is able to produce 120,000 flashes, which is a whole lot of hair removal (roughly 14 years). It has a built-in cable, plus Gentle, Press & Release and Gliding modes. Simple to use, the device has a streamline effect and the ‘pop’ is completely painless. We’ve been testing this for two months now and are seeing a big difference, just in time for summer season.
The Gentle Mode does what it says on the tin and is ideal for first time users, so you needn’t worry if you haven’t used IPL devices before. With the super-fast technology, even a leg area only takes approximately 8 minutes. If time-saving is on your mind, this is a useful part of the fantastic device. You can use the IPL on your legs, underarm, bikini and face, something that not all devices cover.
Tailored to suit your skin, in-built SensoAdapt Technology also allows the device to adapt the light intensity accordingly. There’s a leaflet included to let you know how often you can use it, but failing that, we love the Braun Silk-expert IPL app which reminds users of their next treatment time. All of the hard work is done for you.
The pack we were sent includes an epilator for areas you may be unable to use the IPL on (it can’t be used on freckles) and an exfoliator to smooth the surface and remove any ingrown hairs. Alternatively, you can select the IPL with a Face Cleansing Brush, if you have no need for an epilator and exfoliator. Basically, with this comprehensive kit, all bases are covered.
