Trevor Sorbie Party Pony Tips

Trevor SorbieStyleNest have teamed up with Trevor Sorbie to bring you some Autumn Winter hair tips to help prepare yourself for the party season and the Christmas events ahead.

Inspired by 60s glamour, the elegant classic pony is a style that can be worn with a variety of looks. Seen on the AW13 runway at Moschino, modernise your pony with volume and bounce. Position is paramount so ensure to place the pony centrally on the head, below the crown ensuring a glamorous look.

Step 1.

Begin your polished pony by applying a generous amount of Styling Invisible Hold Mousse (£5.59) to towel dried hair and distribute evenly throughout from roots to ends. Blow-dry the mousse into the hair using the Trevor Sorbie Large Radical Brush (£9.99) for a silky soft, smooth finish with volume and bounce.

Step 2.

To inject added volume, use the Trevor Sorbie Self Grip Rollers along the centre parting, taking inch-long sections and starting at the front of the hair, working backwards. Leave the hair to set in the rollers for as long as possible to create maximum hold and shape.

Step 3.

Once hair is set, release the rollers and gently backcomb at the root area using a soft finishing brush. For extra va va voom, apply Volume Big Hair Powder (£6.29) to the roots, and work in with your fingertips. Gently take the hair into a central ponytail, just below the crown and secure. A good guide to ensure it is correctly positioned is to trace a line up from your cheekbone, creating a perfectly streamlined profile.

Step 4.

Secure with a bungee, and for a more polished style, wrap a piece of your own hair around the band for a totally invisible look, securing with a Kirby grip pushed back into the ponytail. Mist with Styling High Shine Glosser (£5.59) for a silky, lustrous finish.
