Perfect Full Volume Side Parting Style

StyleNest show you how to get the perfect full bounce, full volume, side parting style this summer in three very easy steps.

If you’ve ever lusted after gloriously glossy, Hollywood style waves, our simple three-step top tips will have your tresses looking just like those of Ava Gardner or Rita Hayworth in minutes.

We’ve enlisted the expertise of top stylist Anna Chapman, Director at Trevor Sorbie, to help you get that all-important deep side-parted style and a natural, yet polished soft wave.

Perfect Full Volume Side Parting Style

1. Using a Trevor Sorbie Tail Comb (£4.79), make a neat side parting. Then sleek back the smaller side of hair using Trevor Sorbie Beautiful Volume Hairspray (£5.10) flat to the head. Look in the mirror to get the right balance; you don’t want all your hair to fall on one side, so take the time to get it right. Grip this section flat to the head using small grips, crossing over each one for extra secureness.

2. Take the rest of the hair in six big sections and, using a small very hot tong, wrap the hair around the tong starting at the root – this is to give the hair that gorgeous, soft natural wave which works so well with the deep side parting. Clip in to the head with sectioning clips. Once you’ve finished the last one, start taking out all of the previously tonged sections so that they have a couple of minutes to cool. Soften out the curls into loose waves by rake your fingers through each section and slightly brushing underneath the hair.

3. To finish, put some strong hold mousse, such as Trevor Sorbie Beautiful Volume Volumising Mousse (£5.10) on a large rake comb and lift the front section up to comb through, not taking the comb through to the ends. For extra shine, spritz the side section with some Trevor Sorbie Beautifully Straightened High Shine Spray (£5.10).
