Hair Tip: Windswept Look

StyleNest team up with Aveda to bring you the latest hair trend from last season’s catwalk show of Rebecca Taylor.

Stylists by Frank Rizzieri and Kevin Ryan teamed up to create a windswept look for a relaxed summer look that is inspirational of the windswept look whilst driving along the coast with the top down. Fresh, practical and easy to achieve, the windblown look is contemporary and polished but not overly sophisticated. The ideal look for summer, its feminine and urban with a touch of New York edge. Choosing the right flat iron can be quite difficult. Check out the best BaByliss flat irons at WiseBarber.com.

Step 1. Prep

Prep the hair by spraying with Aveda Pure Abundance Style Prep and start by spritzing from the roots to the ends. Blow-dry hair, using fingers to comb through hair to remove kinks.

Step 2. Part

Part hair on the left side, making parting just above the eye.

Step 3. Curl

Using a beveled flat iron or large barreled curling iron, direct the hair back away from the face by loosely wrapping the hair around the iron.

Step 4. Random Curls

Start at the hairline, around the face area and work backwards in haphazard random sections, keep curling whilst letting the hair fall into loose bends as you release from the iron.

Mist your hair with Aveda Air Control Hairspray whilst massaging and tousling the hair or blowing back with the dryer for that windswept look.
