Hair Tip: Soft Waves In Seconds

With wedding season coming up, StyleNest show you how to achieve gorgeously soft waves in seconds, with a little help from creative director at Daniel Hersheson, Sarah Louise Okin.

This season, British hair brand Hershesons launch an electrical hair tools line created to speed up the time it takes to achieve gloriously styled locks. So whether you’re after a romantic soft wave or a statement 60s beehive, salon-worthy hair can be yours, at home and in no time at all.

With the impending wedding season upon us, we’ve enlisted the help of creative director at Daniel Hersheson, Sarah Louise Okin to show you how to get a romantic soft wave in minutes. All you’ll need are some simple hair products and the new Waving Tongs or Waving Wand by Hershesons.

With the wedding season coming up, a great way to wear your hair is in effortless soft waves. It’s not only really easy to do, but it always looks effective,” Sarah Louise Okin

Step 1: Wash & Dry

To start, hair should be washed, clean and 100% dried.

Step 2: Choose Your Tools

Then take a pair of Hershesons Tourmaline Waving Tongs or a Hershesons Tourmaline Waving Wand. The difference between the two is that the tong has a clamp attached to close around the hair and hold it in place, and the wand has no clamp which you may find easier to just wrap the hair around. They are both just as effective, it’s just depends on which is better for you.

Step 3: Protect and Prep

Spray the hair with either L’Oreal Professional Tecni Art Constructer (£13 from lookfantastic.com) for heat protection, or L’Oreal Professional Tecni Art Pli Thermo-Fixing Spray (£13 at lookfantastic.com) to help your waves last.

Step 4: Tong The Hair

Split the hair into square sections and simply twist the root gently and then wrap around the barrel of the tong or wand. Repeat until all the hair is tonged.

Step 5: Finish

Loosely comb your fingers through the hair to soften up the waves, as you don’t want the style to look too ‘done’. Finish with a spray of L’Oreal Professional Tecni Art Fix Anti-Frizz Spray (£9.80 at lookfantastic.com).

Top tip. Make sure on both sides of the hair the waves are facing outwards, as this gives a really flattering effect around the face.

The Hershesons Tourmaline Waving Tong and Tourmaline Waving Wand are priced at £110 each, available online at www.hershesons.com
