StyleNest have teamed up with ghd’s Creative Director, Kenna to bring you the latest summer hair top tips for a tousled beach look. 

Wave goodbye to sand and salt encrusted locks and say hello to a silky smooth tousled beach barnet.

Step 1.

To begin with, apply ghd style root lift spray to the roots of your hair and blow dry by flipping your head upside down. Keep your ghd air on a low speed and low heat whilst gently running your fingers through and let gravity help you build volume.

Step 2.

Once your hair is completely dry and you have achieved your desired volume, blast of cold air using the cool shot button on the ghd air will give your style an edgy tousled look.

Step 3.

To create the curls use the finger pin technique by wrapping 2cm sections of hair round a finger, then remove your finger keeping the hair in a coil. Heat the coil with ghd eclipse for 4-6 seconds for a perfect finger curl. (For larger waves follow the steps above, but wrap 3-4cm sections of hair round your finger instead.) Once the curls are created, shake your head from side to side to let them fall naturally, then use your fingers to comb through the curls to break them up.

Step 4.

Finally, hold your style in place and spritz with ghd style final fix hairspray to ensure your A-list locks exude star quality from day to night.

Top tip: use ghd style heat protect spray for conditioning hair protection whilst in the sun and keep a spray bottle filled with water to limit chlorine being absorbed into the hair and spray onto the hair once out of the pool.
